After years of research and development, Bin Hong Equipment Co., Ltd. has accumulated proprietary technologies in the process engineering and equipment upgrades for automated gauze folding production. In 2005, the company pioneered the industry's first fully automatic abdominal pad folding production line. Currently, hundreds of abdominal pad folding machines are in operation at customer facilities, with consistently positive feedback from clients. Against this backdrop, to enhance corporate innovation vitality and competitiveness, under the leadership of the Dacheng Craftsman Studio, following the gauze folding machine and the hemmed gauze folding machine, the Guirenbing Studio boldly innovated in 2020. It developed a new version of the fully automatic curved gauze folding machine, which can be applied to gauze pieces with fluffy material surfaces.
I. Performance Contributions
The new “Fully Automatic Curled Gauze Folding Machine” was developed and manufactured in 2020, delivered to customers later that year. To date, one unit has been sold, generating revenue of 415,000 yuan.

II. Technical Challenges
Curled gauze features smaller dimensions and a fluffier, softer structure compared to conventional gauze. Numerous challenges arose during production debugging, including uneven folding, deformation during material flipping, and difficulty in feed size positioning. Due to the material properties of crimped gauze—such as tendency to warp, requirement for tension-free processing environments, and need for small-angle edge folding—we overcame these difficulties through customer feedback and our own pursuit of excellence, identifying root causes and implementing precise solutions. We redesigned the feeding mechanism, innovatively developing floating adaptive feed rollers. Additional features like suction rotation and air-blowing unloading devices were integrated to systematically address each technical challenge encountered during development.

III. Technical Innovation
Through software programming innovation, we enhanced and optimized the equipment's programming. A single machine now supports multiple specifications. The fully automated version features an intuitive menu system for switching product types, automatically correcting dimensions. Equipped with an auto-reset function, each model has an editable initial position. New models can save and modify corresponding initial positions. For example:
Specification 1: Long diagonal 16.2-18.5 cm, short diagonal 14.4-16.5 cm;
Specification 2: Long diagonal 22.5-23.5 cm, short diagonal 19.5-22.2 cm;
Specification 3: Long diagonal 25.5-28.5 cm, short diagonal 22.5-25.5 cm;
Specification 4: Long diagonal 13.2-14.2 cm, short diagonal 12.7-13.7 cm.
Single-channel capacity: 15-20 sheets/min; dual-channel capacity: 30-40 sheets/min. Add a swing arm to the material roll and install a movable roll support bracket on the slide rail. Equip the machine with a wetting spray nozzle that atomizes water before spraying. Slightly roughen the contact surface of the feeding belt. Install a dust extraction system beneath the cutting blade assembly. Provide indicator labels on the equipment exterior.
IV. Product Quality Enhancements
1. Overcame the performance limitation of conventional folding machines unable to fold crimped gauze. Now capable of folding gauze products with fluffy surfaces.
2. Resolved the issue of uneven arrangement in crimped gauze. Folding now ensures neatly aligned crimped gauze.
3. Addressed the low yield rate in crimped gauze folding, significantly increasing gauze folding output rates. The first-generation gauze folding machine suffered from unstable output and low yield rates due to mechanical imperfections and structural flaws. Following a series of technical upgrades, the yield rate of the crimped gauze folding machine has been elevated to 99.0%. This has substantially alleviated customer concerns, delivering stable output and exceptional product quality.
